Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP) is the premier industrial park of Sabah under the Chief Minister Inc. Covering an area of 8,320 acres, it comprises several components that serve as the backbone of its activities, covering industrial, institutional, commercial, residential and tourism enterprises.
Launched in 1995, KKIP to date has created around 6,300 job opportunities. Currently, a total of 232 factories and plants are operating in KKIP with investment value amounting to RM2.03 billion. It is strategically located only 20km away from the state's capital City of Kota Kinabalu and only 7km from the deep sea container port at Sepangar Bay.
All the land sold in KKIP is complete with standard infrastructures such as road, drainage, telecommunication cable and dedicated power supply.
Investors and entrepreneurs have the option to either buy the empty lots of land and construct their own building or purchase a ready-built factory unit constructed by KKIP Sdn. Bhd. specially tailored for industrial or manufacturing activities.
All the companies in KKIP are required to obtain approval from the Department of Environment before operating their businesses at the Park. This is to ensure that sound environmental practices are observed.
Only light to medium scale industries are allowed to operate at KKIP.
